Snoopy’s Home Ice School Program is a dedicated time for children, 4 years and older, offering an opportunity to learn skating in a structured, yet relaxing environment.
The primary goal of this program is to teach basic skating skills but we also strive to build confidence, balance and coordination. By teaching basic skills, we hope to create confident skaters with enough proficiency to pursue recreational or competitive ice skating activities such as figure skating or ice hockey.
School Program is offered to Private, Public, and Home School groups and registrations are dependent on availability. School Program times are normally mornings and early afternoons on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. The number of weeks and the number of students determine the cost and the size of group can range anywhere from 20 to 80 skaters.
Each session of School Program involves a warm up time period, a 15 minute group lesson and an open ice Free Skating time period. First, the Snoopy’s Home Ice Staff will instruct the students how to properly fit and tie skates, as well as how to properly fall and get up on the ice. The other skills that will be taught during the instructional time include the following:
